but remember, sanji doesn’t care about food anymore

oh ok lol XD I actually came up with a possible explanation for him “not caring about food anymore” tho…
maybe I’ll say it anyway~ Sabaody was the worst moment for everyone on the crew. They thought the others had died. And Sanji had never reaaally lost someone he loved like the others had (that we’ve seen anyway) so he got the fright of his life there, really, he was going all out suicidal or something against Kuma, refusing to run away with Usopp :’(and then when they finally reunited with their ship… all of their food supplies had rotted away after 2 years. Given they just reached Sabaody with its huge markets, he’d probably stocked up for a loooong trip. So that was a lot of food O__OSo he realized… food does indeed come and go. It’s not the end of the world. But an individual person only comes once in your life.People are the real treasure, and no amount of food can replace a beloved friend.

But food isn’t a treasure, or it wasn’t something he held above everything else, it was and is a necessity for him, his crew, and every other living thing. Besides, the people who are saying this shit are trying to convince others that everything good about Sanji disappeared over the 2 years and he has been reduced to a sexist piece of shit, which isn’t true at all. Also, I don’t think Sanji would be hugely affected by the food going bad (if indeed he had stocked up already, which I don’t think he had time to do to be honest). That’s what happens when food is left to sit for two years, and it wasn’t something that could be helped. His problem is with careless, casual wasting of food. For example, Momonosuke’s about to throw that bowl down over a misplaced or at least exaggerated sense of pride or honor or whatever. Which is a stupid reason to waste food. Momonosuke definitely needed it, and even if he had refused to eat it anyway, someone else would certainly have eaten it, there’s no need to chuck it to the ground.

ehehe, I wrote that based on what I thought before seeing this post, and also Oda confirmed Sanji put razors and poison in Zoro’s lunchbox right before Punk Hazard (which I think was due to a stupid ritual between them where “you finally asked for a specific dish, and I shall rise to your challenge and give it to you, and I believe you are man enough to live up to your word aka survive the stuff”)
I can see now that careless waste definitely gets Sanji more than accidental waste, but I disagree that he’d NOT be affected by any kind of waste at all. (but my memory is fuzzy, so I don’t know how much he bought or not ><) Wouldn’t Sanji at least fret for a little bit about losing food at all BEFORE letting it go? Even a smidge? @__@ cuz it can also be argued that food being wasted was poor management of it, and that’s kinda one of his main duties as chef ^^”’
Sanji haters tho… uuuuugh @__@ it’s like they willfully shut everything out
